- A top executive at Hollywood studios stated that its difficult for smaller films as there isn't many 'breakout successes'
Big Budget Dramas:
- Netflix spent £100m on co-producing their hit show "The Crown"
- Netflix revealed it has over 90 original productions underway in Europe alone
- Sky has around 80
- There is a changing focus in the film industry as pressure is being ramped up by the boom in big-budget drama
UK film production companies to "glossy dramas":
- Glossy dramas made by US companies have cost £500m a year. By contrast UK domestic films per year has been as low as £198 million
- The lowest level since 2007
- Glossy shows costing at least £1 million an episode and the quality and experience is very high
